in Summer Stock

Doylestown, PA — Do your children, or the offspring of friends or family, have a love of music, drama and dance? If so, they are fortunate if they live in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, home of the Community Conservatory of Music. Established in 1988 as a not for profit neighborhood school dedicated to fostering and nurturing quality music and visual arts for all ages, the Community Conservatory of Music provides individual and group lessons in music and art to more than 600 students. Located in Doylestown, the Community Conservatory of Music is composed of a talented staff of musicians, artists and actors who offer classes in string instruments, piano, percussion, horns, voice, and flute.

Community Conservatory of Music

The Conservatory offers classes for children of all ages, beginning with Music Together, a class for infants, toddlers and preschoolers and their parents, with the emphasis on making music rather than learning about music. Kindermusik, a program for children ages two to five years old, is a joyful exploration of music and movement. Creative Dramatics is another offering for preschoolers that promotes the acting out of familiar nursery rhymes and stories, and helps young children stimulate their imaginations.

Traditional music lessons are offered for brass, guitar, organ, piano, percussion, strings, woodwinds, voice, theory, and harmony for ages seven through adults in retirement, with Suzuki piano and violin students beginning as early as age four. All levels of ability are welcome.

Sally Morgan, Artistic Director of the Conservatory, notes that the faculty includes talented and well known musicians, actors and television personalities. "We are fortunate to have Judy Barton, formerly art and entertainment anchor for Channel 3 News, providing acting instruction during our summer session," Ms. Morgan said.

Community Conservatory of Music is located at 181 East Court Street, Doylestown, PA. As a non-profit organization, the Conservatory offers grants for specialized music instruction and music therapy to individuals with disabilities, tuition assistance and merit awards. Visit their website,, or call (215) 340-7979 for more information.
